Introduction. Malignant neoplasms are one of the main causes of morbidity, disability and mortality of the population worldwide. Along with an increase in the incidence of single-site malignancies, a number of authors indicate that in recent years there has been an increase in the frequency of primary multiple malignancies, that is, those cases when two or more malignant tumors occur independently of each other in the same patient.
Aim. To study the medical and social aspects of recurrent disability due to malignant neoplasms of independent (primary) multiple localizations among people 18 years and older in Moscow in 2016-2022.
Materials and methods. The study is continuous, using the electronic database, based on the results of the reexamination of persons aged 18 years and older in branch offices due to malignant neoplasms of independent (primary) multiple localizations for 2016-2022. Research methods: data extraction, descriptive statistics, comparative analysis.
Results. The number of people who were repeatedly recognized as disabled among the adult population due to the presence of independent (primary) multiple localizations in Moscow increased from 925 people to 2528 people in 2016-2022.
Discussion. A retrospective analysis of repeated disability among the adult population due to malignant neoplasms of independent (primary) multiple localizations for 2016-2022 showed that there was an increase in the number of people who were repeatedly recognized as disabled and an upward trend in the level from 0.80±0.01 to 2.38±0.08 per 10,000 adults; the predominance of disabled people over working age (73.4%) in the structure, a tendency to increase their share and disability level; a decrease in the proportion of people with disabilities of working age (257.6%).
Summary. The number of people with repeated disability due to malignant neoplasms tends to increase. The structure of the disabled is dominated by people over the working age. The most common is disability group II. Comprehensive rehabilitation and social adaptation programs need to be developed and implemented to reduce the rate of repeated disability.
