The Russian Federation was among the first 20 states to sign and then ratify the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, committing itself to the implementation of its main provisions in Russian legislation, law enforcement practice, and the development of measures for the integration of persons with disabilities into society. The development of comprehensive rehabilitation and habilitation of disabled people, including early assistance in modern science and practice, is becoming a priority.
The Association “Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine” has been established at the Federal Scientific Center of Rehabilitation of the Disabled named after G.A. Albrecht, which should unite the efforts of all Russian institutions aimed at developing comprehensive rehabilitation or habilitation of disabled people, and our journal can play an important role in this integrative process. It is assumed that the Association would hold regular symposiums on this issue, and the materials on their results would certainly be reflected on the pages of our journal.
We look forward to the future with hope and offer to join forces with you so that physical and rehabilitation medicine becomes the most important direction in modern medicine.
