Kaladze Nikolay

Kaladze Nikolay Nikolayevich (1944) – pediatrician, balneologist-physiotherapist. Doctor of Medicine (1994), professor (1995). Born in the city of Alexandrov, Vladimir region. In 1961 he entered and in 1967 graduated from the pediatric faculty of the Crimean State Medical Institute. He worked as a pediatrician of the Karasussky district hospital of the Kustanai region (1967-1970). In 1970 he entered the clinical internship at the department of hospital pediatrics of the Crimean Medical Institute. He defended his thesis “Features of the clinic and intracellular metabolism in children of preschool and primary school age with infectious non-specific polyarthritis” (1974). Since 1982, he has headed the department of physiotherapy and balneology for children of the faculty of pedagogy in Evpatoria, later reorganized into the department of pediatrics with a course of physiotherapy. He defended his doctoral thesis “Pathogenetic rationale for sanatorium-resort treatment of children from regions of anthropogenic pollution” (1994). Particular attention is paid to the issues of resort rehabilitation, the development of new technologies of sanatorium-resort treatment. The priority areas of scientific research in balneology are the problems of rehabilitation of children with hematologic diseases, impaired structural and functional properties of bone tissue in diseases of the musculoskeletal system, somatic pathology and cerebral palsy; clarifying the mechanism of action of natural and preformed physical factors using modern research methods. The formed scientific school, which conducts active scientific work, is carried out by 30 scientific workers and practical doctors. He trained 11 doctors and 47 candidates of medical sciences, 21 masters. Author of more than 800 published scientific papers on pediatric cardiovascular medicine, immunology, genetics, physiotherapy and balneology, medical history; co-author of 8 monographs, 27 patents. Full member of the Crimean Academy of Sciences, chairman of the dissertation council for the defense of candidate and doctoral dissertations. Founder and chief editor of the journals “Bulletin of physiotherapy and balneology” and “Asclepius.” The organizer of the annual scientific readings “Acta Eupatorica”, the Congresses of Physiotherapists and Health Resort Specialists of the Republic of Crimea, the annual scientific readings in memory of Professor N.I.
